New Technology Takes Bedside Imaging to New Level

A new 15-6 MHz linear-array transducer uses a broad frequency range to achieve clearer images for increased versatility. The device combines the image quality of high frequencies with the penetration benefits of low frequencies, providing increased spatial and contrast resolution for visualization of fine tissue structures.

SonoSite, Inc. (Bothell, WA, USA) recently launched the HFL50x, a new high-frequency linear-array transducer for its M-Turbo and S-Series point-of-care ultrasound systems. This powerful tool features SonoSite’s advanced UltraRes technology, providing excellent resolution for a wide range of musculoskeletal, breast, rheumatology, and small parts imaging applications.

“The introduction of UltraRes technology represents a significant step forward for clinicians using linear-array transducers,” explained Tracey Byard, U.K. country manager for SonoSite. “In addition, the wide field of view offered by this transducer allows more inclusive visualization of anatomical structures, aiding diagnosis and treatment guidance with our M-Turbo and S-Series systems.”

SonoSite is a developer of hand-held ultrasound systems. The company is represented by ten subsidiaries and a global distribution network in over 100 countries. SonoSite’s small, lightweight systems are expanding the use of ultrasound across the clinical spectrum by cost-effectively bringing high performance ultrasound to the point of patient care.

SonoSite, Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of SonoSite, Inc. (Hitchin, Hertfordshire; UK), has a direct sales distribution network in the United Kingdom.
