New Set of Cloud-Based Software Developed for PACS, Imaging Archives

A new range of software for fully functional cloud-based picture archiving and communication system (PACS), imaging archives, depots, and mirrors has been added to a company’s hosted product range.

Intelerad Medical Systems (Montreal Canada), a developer of medical imaging PACS, radiology information system (RIS), and workflow solutions, has three new products as part of their Nuage suite of cloud-based software. Among the new solutions is CloudComplete—a fully-featured, cloud-based version of their IntelePACS solution. Other systems included in the suite include CloudStore, which enables imaging departments to relocate all long-term storage to the cloud; and CloudMirror, which offers the flexibility of an off-site hosted data replication service.

“Our goal with the Nuage suite is to help customers grow in an easy and flexible way, regardless of any constraints they may have regarding CapEx [capital expenditure] or IT [information technology] resources,” said Randall Oka, Intelerad’s president and CEO. “By deploying our cloud-based solutions to manage their images, customers will no longer face the challenges related to replacing or expanding their IT architecture, while gaining additional benefits such as reduced exposure to significant data risks.”

Intelerad’s cloud-based solutions are designed on their Nuage cloud imaging platform, an integrated stack of multiple tier-3 data centers, hosted IntelePACS back-end capabilities, support, and professional services available 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The solutions offer a pay-as-you-grow model that measures operating expenses with storage requirements, for cost-effective growth and data protection.

Intelerad’s Nuage suite also provides durable data protection, as customers’ image archives are safely managed and actively monitored by Intelerad’s imaging workflow specialists. With data replicated at redundant data centers located in different states of the US, Intelerad’s Nuage solutions protect against risks of physical disaster and provide high availability for their PACS.

“Intelerad’s Nuage solutions are designed to effectively resolve common anxieties about storage expansion, data protection, and business continuity,” said Mr. Oka. “By doing so, organizations can better focus on strategically expanding their business and deliver the highest levels of patient care.”
