Hologic (Bedford, MA, USA), a global healthcare and diagnostics company, has announced that it expects total revenues for first fiscal quarter of 2015 to reach approximately USD 653 million—7% more than the year before.

The company provided the business updates in preparation for its participation in the 33rd Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference.

The estimated revenue increase is shared among all Hologic business segments: diagnostics (USD 304 million), breast health (USD 242 million), surgical gynecology (GYN) (USD 84 million), and skeletal health (USD 22 million). Hologic also announced that it had made a voluntary prepayment of USD 300 million of principal on a Term Loan B facility in December 2014.

The company produces a range of diagnostic imaging products and software including the Affirm breast biopsy guidance system, Aixplorer MultiWave ultrasound system, and MultiView image analysis software.

Steve MacMillan, Hologic's president and chief executive officer, stated, "This better-than-expected performance, combined with the voluntary prepayment of debt, provide further evidence of a turnaround that continues to build momentum.”
