At the onsite 2022 European Congress of Radiology (ECR 2022), Agfa HealthCare (Mortsel, Belgium) highlighted its groundbreaking, intelligent solutions that are transforming digital radiography, by providing smart, meaningful answers to radiology’s real needs. At Agfa’s booth, visitors discovered how the company’s expanded digital radiography portfolio can meet the needs of every radiologist and every budget, with solutions such as the newly-launched VALORY rooms, SmartXR intelligence and Dura-line detectors.

VALORY is the newest addition to Agfa’s comprehensive direct radiography (DR) portfolio, combining simplicity and reliability with functionalities that exceed ‘basic’ expectations. The smooth, safe workflow speeds up patient throughput, while delivering ‘first-time-right’ imaging. VALORY comes with a ceiling-suspended or floor-mounted X-ray tube. It also comprises the top-level MUSICA image processing software that is ‘standard’ with all of Agfa’s digital radiography solutions. The Dura-line Cesium Iodide detectors offer the potential for significant patient dose reduction and outstanding 15-hour battery autonomy. The detectors come in three sizes, and can be shared between different modalities, thanks to the Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology. The powerful combination of VALORY, Dura-line and MUSICA delivers high image quality at the lowest possible dose and enables hospitals to enhance imaging productivity.

At ECR 2022, Agfa presented its groundbreaking mobile DR 100s that combines fast, high-quality DR imaging with excellent maneuverability and ease of use. SmartXR provides predictive workflow assistance that helps improve efficiency and consistency of outcomes. Agfa also demonstrated SmartXR puts X-ray artificial intelligence that work for the radiographer by lightening workloads with a smoother, more efficient daily imaging workflow, and more consistent images. With tools for dose, alignment, patient positioning and more, SmartXR is the radiographer’s ‘intelligent assistant’ for first-time-right image acquisition. By reducing retakes, it speeds up the radiology workflow, optimizes energy and equipment costs, and supports the care quality and lean budget requirements of evidence-based medicine.

“With ECR back ‘in person’, we are delighted to have so much to share, including new solutions such as our dedicated and affordable VALORY rooms, SmartXR intelligence and Dura-line detectors. Every hospital deserves ‘excellence’, no matter its size or budget. We help them achieve this by putting intelligent tools into the hands of radiology staff, in order to meet real needs on a day-to-day basis,” said Georges Espada, Global Head of Digital Radiography Business Unit of Agfa.
