A browser-based referring physician portal allows radiology groups to notify referrers of vital results, deliver media-rich reports on thin clients and mobile devices, and develop awareness for their services through a flexible interface.

InteleConnect, manufactured by Intelerad Medical Systems (Denver, CO, USA), a developer of medical imaging picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and workflow solutions, is a browser-based application that does not require training or software installation and reaches referring physicians connected to any mobile devices and smart phones. It allows communication of radiology results to any location, from patient bedsides to home offices.

InteleConnect is fully featured, providing consistent media-rich reports for all modalities, interactive 2D and 3D key images, audio reports, patient search, timely email notifications for critical results, and status updates of ordered requisitions. Secure and easy to manage, InteleConnect is Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) -compliant, and allows relevant patient cases to be shared within a physician's practice.

"As a dedicated referring physician portal, InteleConnect is specifically designed to provide easy and streamlined access to radiology reports and images from any Web browser without any administration or training hassles,” said Rick Rubin, Intelerad's VP and chief engineering officer. "For referring physicians that have more sophisticated image analysis requirements, InteleViewer, our Web-based diagnostic viewing solution, will be accessible from the portal as well.”

InteleConnect offers premium placement of the radiology group's name and logo, as well as the ability to share their news and events.
