Traditional mobile MRI scanners are typically confined to 8-foot-wide trailers. However, Interim Diagnostic Imaging (IDI), in collaboration with its parent company, Modular Devices (Indianapolis, IN, USA), which specializes in mobile imaging solutions, has introduced a groundbreaking innovation in mobile medical imaging: a new 10' wide mobile MRI scanner. This new model, at 10' wide, offers an additional 2' of width compared to all other mobile MRI trailers on the market, providing 25% more workspace than the standard 8' wide trailers. This extra space significantly enhances both the patient and user experience by offering a larger, dedicated patient changing area that accommodates MRI-safe gurneys, improving comfort and operational efficiency.

In addition to a more spacious changing area, the extra space also allows for a larger control room, which helps staff work more efficiently, especially in high-demand or urgent situations. The extra 2' of space surrounding the table and magnet makes patient positioning easier and safer. The new design eliminates the need for modular building permits, simplifies logistics, and allows the unit to be deployed and operational in just a few hours. The trailer is equipped with the Siemens Aera 1.5T MRI, which provides exceptional imaging quality and patient comfort thanks to its 70 cm open bore. Advanced coil configurations allow for a broad range of imaging applications, from routine scans to complex diagnostic procedures. Additionally, real-time monitoring and a Siemens OEM service agreement ensure reliable, consistent performance, even in challenging environments.

"With over 40 years of experience as a mobile imaging solutions provider, we continue to innovate. With the new 10' wide MRI, we've listened to our customer's requests for a larger Mobile MRI with more space and created a first-of-its-kind 10' wide Mobile MRI," said Mark Koers, CEO of Modular Devices. "From enhanced workflow to patient comfort, we've designed this unit to address challenges faced by healthcare providers, especially in areas where space, productivity, turnover, and efficiency are critical factors."
