3MP Diagnostic Displays with LED backlights Allows Radiologists to Visualize More Details

New diagnostic displays enhance radiologist performance and productivity by making slight details more perceptible faster, and feature 3MP resolution and using high-bright light-emitting diode (LED) backlights.

Healthcare imaging specialist Barco (Kortrijk, Belgium), reported the launch of two new diagnostic display systems: the grayscale Coronis 3MP LED and the high-bright Nio color 3MP LED. “At a time when healthcare providers are being challenged to deliver care more efficiently, we are dedicated to helping them improve workflow efficiency,” commented Lynda Domogalla, VP, product marketing for Barco’s Healthcare division. “Our new diagnostic display systems with LED backlight technology are designed specifically for healthcare applications and offer many clinical, operational, and financial benefits.”

Barco’s high-bright LED backlights render more “just noticeable differences” to help radiologists see more shades of gray. Moreover, Barco’s Nio color 3MP LED comes with a brand-new front-of-screen sensor for on-demand image quality checks. The more advanced Coronis 3MP LED features an Intelligent Multi-Sensor Technology (I-MST) system, combining Barco’s patented I-Guard front-of-screen sensor with backlight, ambient light, and temperature sensors to optimize image quality.

Other patented image-enhancing technologies, such as ULT-LED and PPU-LED, remove image noise and provide uniform Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) images from center to corner. Showing the tiniest details, the 3MP Nio and Coronis display systems lessen windowing and leveling time, enabling radiologists to read their studies more effectively.

Barco’s new 3MP diagnostic displays are an excellent investment for healthcare organizations because they increase throughput, save energy, and have an extended lifespan. Combined with Barco’s MediCal QAWeb system for enterprise-wide, automated calibration, quality assurance, and asset management, maximum uptime is guaranteed. Furthermore, Barco’s LED backlights generate less heat, requiring less cooling, and reducing the overall operational costs for the hospital.

Barco’s Coronis 3MP LED is the industry-leading display system for grayscale radiology imaging. It offers a DICOM calibrated luminance of 600 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 1400:1. All Coronis displays come with Barco’s I-Guard front-of-screen precision photometer and MediCal QAWeb for intervention-free quality assurance (QA), fleet management, and reporting.

Nio Color 3MP LED is a high-bright color display system featuring a DICOM calibrated luminance of 400 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 1400:1. The new Nio display comes with a unique front sensor and Medical QAWeb for on-demand calibration. Both display systems come with a standard five-year warranty.
