A Turkish oncology center is utilizing a picture archiving and communications system (PACS) to improve workflow for their radiologists and oncologists.

The Istanbul Oncology Center selected the PowerServer PACS in May 2008. The Istanbul Oncology Center is one of only a few oncology-specific healthcare institutions in Turkey and prior to the installation, radiologists were limited to reviewing images on the modality workstations and unable to see their patient's related oncology images, which prevented them from consulting and reviewing details at the same time, slowing down their workflow.

The RamSoft (Toronto, ON, Canada) PowerServer PACS enabled all radiologists and oncologists to reach their fused cases online and from their own offices. There are now also able to review their images and reports online anywhere in the world. With the PowerServer PACS, the clinicians were able to connect an unlimited number of physical sites across any distance. Because of the subspecialty of the hospital, there were many patients waiting for their detailed reports and consultations. The PowerServer PACS enable them to improve their workflow and subsequently the level of care they provided their patients.

According to Nuri Tasali, M.D., and president of Istanbul Oncology Center, "Our radiologists and oncologists are very happy with the RamSoft PowerServer PACS. We feel it is more intuitive and easier to use than any other systems we have seen. We decided to go with RamSoft because it has great hanging protocols and alert systems. RamSoft PowerServer PACS is in our daily routine. RamSoft and iMedIT has been incredibly responsive to our needs and thank you for all your sincere efforts.”

PowerServer PACS is a complete and customizable Web-based image management solution that supports all modalities and provides the stability, performance, and security healthcare facilities require. It comes standard with a volume-based license that allows for unlimited users and unlimited workstations. Images can be stored on a single database, and its progressive study loading allows the user to display images as they arrive instead of downloading the entire study to view the images.

RamSoft, Inc., an information technology (IT) software and services company, is focused on developing and delivering cost-effective PACS/radiology information systems (RIS) and teleradiology solutions for its clients in the United States and worldwide. RamSoft offers a wide range of affordable and feature-rich solutions such as the PowerServer Series of PACS, RIS/PACS, teleradiology, and patient information-management systems.

IMedIT (Istanbul, Turkey) is a distributor of Ramsoft products in Europe, Turkey, and Middle East.
