Updates to Enterprise-Wide Image and Report Viewing System Include Faster, Wider Access to Data

An enterprise-wide image and report viewing system provides only one interface for practitioners to securely access data from multiple archives in real-time.

ResolutionMD is accredited by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for diagnosis on web and iOS mobile devices, and was first to be cleared for Android devices earlier in 2013. Calgary Scientific, Inc. (Calgary, Canada) reported updates to ResolutionMD that were presented for the first time at this year’s annual meeting of the Radiology Society of North America (RSNA), held December 1-6, 2013, in Chicago (IL, USA).

The new functionality enables faster and wider access to important data by offering a view of the complete patient record across different systems and geographies, including additional support for non-DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) data types; enabling integration with any system currently in use, optimizing existing infrastructure; and facilitating secure notification and instant collaboration capabilities that connect practitioners regardless of their location or device they are using.

“Calgary Scientific continues to demonstrate its leadership in enterprise and mobile image viewing for healthcare,” said Pierre Lemire, president and CTO with Calgary Scientific. “I think RSNA attendees will be excited to view our new capabilities as they address the challenges healthcare organizations have in quickly accessing images and other patient information across their enterprises.”

ResolutionMD enables clinicians to securely view patient images and reports from a wide array of computers and mobile devices, collaborate with other practitioners, and produce high-quality medical diagnosis from any location. The FDA-cleared, Health Canada licensed, and CE-marked mobile medical diagnosis software never transfers highly sensitive data to the device, as is the case with other solutions.

The enterprise-wide viewing solution integrates seamlessly with multiple healthcare IT systems, optimizing existing infrastructure from any array of manufacturers. ResolutionMD is published in 12 languages and is currently installed in healthcare institutions worldwide via a network of more than 35 healthcare partners.

Calgary Scientific is a developer of web and mobile diagnostic medical imaging solutions and collaboration-enablement technologies.
