New imaging information technology (IT) software features fully integrated peer review, critical results management, and analytics.

Intelerad Medical Systems (Montreal, Canada), a developer of medical imaging picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), radiology information systems (RIS), and workflow solutions, reported on the launch of their Performance and Quality Suite, which provides imaging enterprises with a set of key Intelerad modules designed to improve operational performance and diagnostic standards.

“We’re often told by customers that remaining competitive within the industry requires them to continually refine their offerings,” said Randall Oka, president and CEO, Intelerad. “Our Performance and Quality Suite responds to this by allowing imaging enterprises to easily evaluate and provide feedback on colleagues’ work, while enhancing communication and tracking overall performance.”

To improve diagnostic quality levels, the solution features a newly-enhanced Peer Review module that comes fully integrated into InteleViewer to simplify the process and help deliver timely feedback. The Image Quality Review module allows radiologists to provide feedback to technologists regarding the quality of images generated, while the new integrated Resident Over-Reads module enhances the reporting quality of radiologists in training.

The Suite also features Intelerad’s Critical Results module, which improves patient care by enabling better prioritization and tracking of critical cases, and enhancing communications with referring and emergency room physicians.

To measure performance and facilitate continual improvement, the Suite utilizes Intelerad Analytics to provide real-time metrics regarding radiologist productivity, quality levels, departmental workflow, study volumes, and turnaround times.
