Medseek (Solvang, CA, USA), a leading provider of enterprise e-health systems, is forming a strategic partnership with Agfa HealthCare (Mortsel, Belgium) to advance enterprise-wide clinical interoperability.

Under the three-year U.S. multi-million dollar contract, Agfa's 180 healthcare sales representatives in the United States and Canada will re-sell Medseek's eConnect Clinical portal as an add-on sale to its medical imaging accounts in radiology and cardiology.

Medseek's eConnect clinical connectivity links underlying systems and provides intuitive views of clinical information from legacy systems over the web. Utilizing Medseek's eConnect integration engine, clinicians gain access to clinical data from disparate systems through one easy-to-use-and-access unified view, enabling easy review of patients' records, lab results, electrocardiogram (ECG) studies, cardiology images, picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) imaging, transcriptions, and progress reports.

According to AGFA North America president, Bob Pryor, "As a leading integrator of imaging and information flow in healthcare, we are pleased to partner with Medseek, which shares a common mission to accelerate enterprise-wide interoperability in healthcare. As hospitals across the country are increasingly recognizing the benefits of instant access to information for better decision-making and improved communications, we need additional solutions such as Medseek's eConnect Clinical Dashboard to broaden our reach in enterprise IT [information technology]. This partnership helps us to provide more value to our customers.”

The integration of AGFA HealthCare and Medseek's systems will help to increase efficiency in hospital organizations and the quality of patient care. Medseek will provide the services, project management, installation, training, and implementation for all eConnect Clinical portal sales.

Medseek's CEO Mike Drake explained, "It is truly a win-win partnership that benefits all stakeholders. AGFA HealthCare will leverage their existing installed customer base with deeper healthcare solutions while Medseek will benefit from Agfa's ability to cross sell our solutions to their extensive hospital client base. We look forward to working together to create greater interoperability among disparate patient data throughout the healthcare continuum.”
