GE Medical Systems (Waukesha, WI, USA) has acquired Sopha Medical Vision (SMV, Buc, France), which designs and manufactures nuclear medicine and positron emission tomography (PET) systems. Financial terms were not disclosed.

SMV offers a comprehensive array of cameras, workstations, clinical software, cardiology applications, and networking and archiving solutions for nuclear medicine and PET applications. The company has manufacturing and engineering operations in both Buc (France) and Twinsburg, OH (USA).
