A range of new technologies to be showcased at JFR 2013 includes the MyVue patient portal, which allows patients to securely manage and share their medical images and radiology reports with healthcare providers.

At the 2013 Journées Françaises de Radiologie (JFR) exhibition, to be held October 25-29, in Paris (France), Carestream (Rochester, NY, USA) will present their latest product range of healthcare systems, including the MyVue platform.

Vue is a healthcare information technology platform that simplifies radiology information system/picture archiving and communication system (RIS+PACS)+Reporting and includes new lesion management applications that can help improve precision in evaluating changes in cancerous lesions as part of the diagnosis and treatment of oncology patients.

For digital X-ray capture, both the DRX-Evolution and the DRX-Revolution will be also presented. Both were designed around the DRX-1 detector platform that works with any system in the DRX range of in-room and mobile imaging systems.

The new smaller-format 25-cm x 30-cm cesium iodide DRX 2530C detector is designed to fit into pediatric incubator trays and provide higher DQE (detective quantum efficiency), which can lead to lower dose requirements than computed radiography (CR) cassettes or gadolinium scintillator detectors. The detector was designed for use with DRX-Revolution or DRX-Mobile retrofit kits for mobile imaging of neonatal or pediatric patients.

Carestream Dental will present the CS 9300 system at the meeting—a high-quality cone beam computed tomography (CBCT-three dimensional [3D] imaging) and true panoramic imaging system for ear-nose-throat (ENT) and dental indications. The system can be used for a range of ENT and dental applications—including temporal bone, sinus, and maxillofacial exams; dental implantology; oral surgery; orthodontics; periodontics, and endodontics.

“JFR is one of the major meeting places for radiology professionals in Europe, Africa, the Near and Middle East and continues annually to gather together all the significant players in healthcare,” said Ludovic d’Apréa, general manager, Carestream Europe. “The exhibition provides a valuable opportunity for dialogue with customers and the ideal platform from which to showcase our latest innovations in medical technology.”
