A new ultrasound system has workflow-enhancing clinical applications and a state-of-the-art ergonomic design. Covering the continuum of care from screening to diagnosis to therapy and follow-up, the Acuson S2000 ultrasound system, release 2.0 now features advanced applications for vascular and cardiac imaging.

The cardiology upgrades on the 2.0 release of the Siemens Healthcare (Erlangen, Germany) Acuson S2000 system improve clinical confidence and increase workflow efficiency with a number of advanced applications. Dynamic tissue contrast enhancement (TCE) technology is a powerful new algorithm that provides advanced speckle reduction and enhanced contrast resolution for more detailed images, and is now available on all phased array transducers.

The Acuson S2000 system, release 2.0 is ready to perform intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) with the Acuson AcuNav ultrasound catheter, additionally enhancing information needed for an informed diagnosis. Live dual display functionality enables simultaneous viewing of B-mode and color Doppler images with the push of a single button, eliminating extra keystrokes and improving workflow efficiency. Expanded eSieScan workflow protocols offer more flexibility to streamline workflows, while stress echo and clip capture enhancements provide more options when performing exams. Anatomic M-mode corrects for off-axis alignment to deliver anatomically accurate M-mode imaging to enhance diagnostic confidence further.

Advanced imaging capabilities and workflow enhancements make the 2.0 release of the Acuson S2000 system a complete two-dimensional (2D) cardiology solution for shared service organizations and cardiology labs.
