Productivity-Oriented Ultrasound Platform Provides Application-Specific Customization with Increased Connectivity

New productivity-oriented platform (POP) ultrasound systems have been designed to deliver improved system and user performance, ergonomics, mobility, and connectivity.

MyLabSeven and MyLabAlpha ultrasound systems are the two newest additions to the Esaote’s (Genoa, Italy) MyLab ultrasound family. MyLabSeven is a high-performance compact ultrasound system specifically designed to increase productivity of echo labs and offer high-level mobility, due to its compact footprint. MyLabAlpha sets a new standard in portable systems. Esaote was able to miniaturize their high-level ultrasound platform to fit an extremely compact and light case without compromising performance.

The novel POP platform is the core of the new MyLab systems and provides ease-of-use, application-specific customization and a new degree of connectivity. The systems offer a simple and user-friendly interface, a wide liquid crystal display (LCD), high-definition (HD) display screen, attention to ergonomic detail, and an intelligent touch-screen that features Esaote’s exclusive e-touch technology.

The e-touch feature represents Esaote’s approach to take exam efficiency to a new level. By simply pressing the e-touch button, a user can now enter a customized environment where personal settings, complex functions, annotations, and measurements can be stored and easily recalled during the examinations, allowing a conventional ultrasound system to become someone’s personal diagnostic tool.

“The main targets of the systems’ design were high-level performance and diagnostic confidence,” said L. Satragno, general manager for Esaote SpA. “At the same time, we strongly believe that simplicity and productivity are key factors for best practice today.”

MyLabSeven and MyLabAlpha also offer advanced connectivity technology, including wireless networking, full Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM), and IHE (Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise) compliance. MyLabDesk, Esaote’s software, which allows users to archive, review, postprocess, and print exams from the convenience of a personal computer (PC) is also available to increase productivity.

“The addition of the MyLabSeven and MyLabAlpha represents the next level of excellence in ultrasound imaging,” said F. Landi, CEO of Esaote. “The ability to deliver such powerful platforms and advanced technologies in compact and ready-to-go solutions, is a clear demonstration of Esaote’s continuous investment in research to meet even the most demanding and evolving clinical needs of our clinicians.”
